Hello! My name is Jake Hoover, and I’m delighted to be working with Windy City Paws. I’ve been a lover of dogs for as long as I can remember, and have grown up alongside man’s best friend at every step. A Pennsylvanian by way of Boston, I’m thrilled to have the chance to stretch my legs around Chicago in the company of dogs of all shapes and sizes. I love taking the time to get to know a dog on an individual level–learning their quirks and personalities, and being able to give your best friend the love and care they need every day. While not out on the beat, I’m an active, if nascent member of Chicago’s community of playwrights.
I’m an outdoors kind of guy through and through. Born and raised in rural Wisconsin, I’ve spent the majority of my life out in nature and among animals. Some of my earliest memories are of spending time with our golden retriever Jake: my family camping on the shores of Lake Superior with him burrowed in my tent, or playing on the beaches of Lake Michigan, watching him go ankle deep in the water before getting scared and running back to me. I’ve had many great dogs since him, up until I moved down to the city a few years back and found that I couldn’t have animals in my apartment. It’s a bummer; but I love that I still get a chance to interact and take care animals by working for Windy City Paws. It’s like bringing a little bit of the wild into the city with me.

Kenzie hails from West Bend, Wisconsin. Growing up, animals had always been an integral part of her nuclear and extended family structure. She had beagles when she was younger and now she has a pit bull mix. She also had an extended pet family that included huskies, teacup yorkies, a dachshund, a shih tz-poo, and several lovely mixed breed pups. Her early familial introduction to caring for pets cultivated and cemented a deep love for animals, no matter the shape or size. Hi! I’m Michael. I’m a recent transplant here in Chicago from sunny Sarasota, Florida to pursue performance art and theatre, and I recently graduated with a degree in theatre from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. I am the lucky best friend of a beautiful Australian Shepherd named Apache, who unfortunately due to traveling had to stay back home in Florida. We like to FaceTime each other though so it’s all good. I love dogs so, so much (and cats and I are pretty cool, too), and I can’t wait to meet and become friends your furry companion too!
Michael was born in New York, but grew up in rural Vermont. Michael
has had three dogs in his life, a beautiful German Shepard, a funny Basset
Hound, and he currently has an energetic Terrier! If Michael was a breed of dog he would be a German Shepard because they are smart, intelligent, and hard
working animals. What Michael loves most about dog walking is that it allows him to be active and surrounded by something he loves. In addition to walking dogs, Michael enjoys watching movies and writing reviews about them on his blog, is a big baseball fan, and loves to write. What Michael loves most about animals is that they’re a lot like us and reflect the best parts of who we are.
