Amy L.'s photo

Amy L.

Amy hails from the NW suburbs but has been living in Chicago for years. Amy grew up with dogs her whole life, from rambunxious Shih Tzus to enthusiastic rescue dogs. Amy has always been the go-to dog walker and sitter for family and friends. While she currently doesn’t own any pets of her own, she dreams of one day owning a Corgi named Henry! If Amy could be any dog breed she would be a Corgi. When she’s not walking dogs, Amy enjoys finding new restaurants, cooking, film photography, and spending as much time as possible with her nephew who lives right down the block. What Amy enjoys most about dog walking is having the opportunity to spend her time outdoors, and seeing new parts of the city with a furry companion. Amy loves knowing that she is lending a helping hand in caring for her clients’ beloved pets when they are attending to other matters. What Amy loves most about animals is their genuine excitement to see you each and every day. Being greeted by a loving animal will never get old and is just the kind of energy Amy believes we all need in our daily lives!

Amy M.'s photo

Amy M.

Amy spent the majority of her life living in Michigan, in several different areas before moving to Chicago! Amy grew up with animals her entire life. Her parents bred basset hounds when she was young and her dad currently has six dogs – 4 dachshunds, a cocker spaniel, and a shih tzu. While she doesn’t currently have any pets of her own, Amy spends a lot of time with her father’s dogs and her brother’s angelic little calico. Amy hopes to adopt a rescue pet soon and also start raising snails! If Amy could be any breed of dog, she’d probably be a sheepdog because her hair is also too long and always in her face. Outside of walking dogs, Amy enjoys drawing, playing video games, and collecting plushes and Tamagotchis. What Amy enjoys most about walking dogs is having the companionship of a cute little friend while also getting some fresh air together! What Amy loves most about animals is how rewarding it is to befriend an animal and earn their trust! “It’s a great feeling, to love an animal and know they love you in return.”

Anand P.'s photo

Anand P.

Anand hails from Naperville, IL. While growing up, Anand had a golden retriever and he enjoyed volunteering at the Naperville Area Humane Society. He also dogsits for friends! While he doesn’t currently own any of his own pets, his family recently got a new puppy that he’s been spending lots of time with. If Anand could be a breed of dog, he would be a golden retriever. Outside of walking dogs, Anand enjoys making music, watching movies, and playing video games. What Anand likes most about walking dogs is how just being around them makes him happy. Seeing their enjoyment while being outside, getting some exercise, and sniffing all the smells, always brightens his day. What Anand loves most about animals is how they perceive the world completely differently from us.

Andrew D.'s photo

Andrew D.

Andrew hails from Anderson, IN! While growing up, Andrew often volunteered in animal shelters and helped to raise and train his family dogs. While Andrew currently doesn’t have a dog, Andrew’s family still has a dog named Bear. If Andrew was going to be a dog breed, it would be a Labrador Retriever. Outside of dog walking, Andrew enjoys playing tennis, quality time with friends and family, photography, exploring new places, and summer activities. What Andrew enjoys most about dog walking is allowing them the chance to be outdoors and enjoy one of their favorite activities. For Andrew, animals are the best! They comfort us as humans and constantly uplift us. Dogs are such an important part of family life and they often bring out the best in us.

In the picture you can see one of Christine’s three grand pups who visit her often, she has regular family pups who often stay with them. If Christine was a dog, she would be a mutt, that way she can be many lovable breeds all at once!  What Christine loves most about dog walking is being outside. Outside of dog walking, Christine loves decorating, running, and most importantly spending as much time as possible with her family. What Christine loves most about animals is their loyalty and honesty, if they don’t like something they let you know.

Collan S.'s photo

Collan S.

Collan hails from Minneapolis, MN! Collan has fostered dogs and cats for about 4 years and has experience working with animals with special needs. Currently, Collan owns a bunny rabbit named Snack! If Collan could be any breed of dog he would be a Black Labrador or a Corgi. Outside of walking dogs, Collan enjoys exercising, rock climbing, playing guitar, and playing any kind of racket sport. What Collan enjoys most about walking dogs is being able to develop relationships with each animal and having the opportunity to work with all different types of dogs and their unique personalities. What Collan enjoys most about working with animals is the feeling of gratification and accomplishment you experience when you know you are helping them achieve their best lives.
Dylan W.'s photo

Dylan W.

Dylan is a native Chicagoan from the Rogers Park area. He has volunteered at numerous animal shelters, caring for both dogs and cats, as well as taking care of the birds at the Knox College Biology department! Now he has a wonderful Black Lab named Night. If he were a dog, Dylan would be a Labrador like Night! His favorite part about walking dogs is seeing how much they enjoy being out and about, as well as helping them get the exercise they need. What Dylan loves most about cats is the feeling of gaining their trust as they rub up against you purring and demanding pets! If Dylan could have any one trait of cats it would be to be as graceful and surefooted as cats are on any surface. Dylan feels if he were a cat his name would probably be either Garfield or Hobbes! Outside of dog walking and cat sitting, Dylan enjoys reading, writing, and making funny videos for his friends. He hopes to make his own YouTube channel from his experiences with these videos! His favorite thing about animals is that they are honest and unafraid to express themselves.

Eddie S.'s photo

Eddie S.

Eddie hails from South Texas! Eddie grew up in a rural area and was surrounded by animals – chickens, pigs, horses, goats, you name it! Eddie never had an “inside” pet until he adopted his first dog, Bleu (a Boston terrier with energy for days!), when he attended college. Unfortunately, Bleu recently passed. However, since then, Eddie has come to love petsitting for friends and family until he can adopt another dog of his own. If Eddie could be a dog breed he would definitely be a Boston terrier because they are energetic and clownish! That said, his personality closer aligns with an English bulldog. As Eddie puts it – he loves food, enjoys couch time, still charismatic. When not walking dogs Eddie enjoys trying new restaurants, hanging out with friends, crafting on his Cricut, and playing video games. What Eddie enjoys most about walking dogs is being able to enjoy nature with a furry friend and getting them some exercise to keep them happy and healthy. Eddie loves to talk about animals with other owners. Eddie’s favorite thing about animals is their personalities, especially their honesty and ability to communicate in their own way.

Elexa P.'s photo

Elexa P.

Elexa was born and raised right here in Chicago. Unfortunately due to a family member’s allergies Elexa does not have any pets of her own but has helped in the care for animals of extended family and friends, including overnight and general pet setting cats, dogs, and guinea pigs. If Elexa was a dog, she feels she would be a German Shepherd, large and scary looking, but truly big dogs with bigger hearts, so playful, kind, and protective! Elexa’s favorite thing about walking dogs is being able to spend time with the dogs themselves, it’s like meeting up and hanging out with friends! Outside of dog walking, Elexa spends her free time reading comic books, playing video games, and digital illustrating. What Elexa loves most about animals is how we love them and they love us back tenfold and that they can be very human in their emotions!

Ella R.'s photo

Ella R.

Ella was born in Russia but moved to Chicago in 2017.  Ella grew up in a family where animals played a huge role.  Throughout Ella’s entire life, she was always accompanied by cats or dogs!  Her grandfather was a huge dog lover and he had as many as 5 dogs at one time, in which she especially bonded closely with his St. Bernard Grisha.  In Russia, Ella also volunteered to rescue and find homes for stray cats and dogs.  When Ella moved to Chicago, she brought her cat Bucephalus with her!  If Ella were to be a dog, she would undoubtedly be a St. Bernard: compassionate and a rescuer!  What Ella loves most about walking dogs is being able to enjoy the outdoors with a canine companion!  She loves being able to observe their behavior during these walks.  What Ella loves most about cats is how even if they’re just as affectionate to their owners as dogs, only the cat decides when and where it’s going to do something! If Ella could have any one trait of cats it would be their persistence in achieving a goal no matter what it is. Ella feels if she was a cat her name would definitely be Sherlock. Outside of dog walking and cat sitting, Ella practices yoga with her husband, and also enjoys photography and mosaic art!  What Ella loves most about animals is their honesty and their understanding of simple happiness.  Ella believes that animals make us better!

Gary F.'s photo

Gary F.

Gary is originally from Santa Barbara, CA. He grew up with a chubby Dalmatian named Domino, and his handsome Siberian Husky named Yukon currently still lives with his parents in California. Gary has been walking dogs professionally for several years, and was WCP’s Walker Manager for over a year and a half before stepping down to focus on his acting career. If Gary could be a dog, he would be a Northern Inuit because at this point it seems like that’s the only way he’ll ever be on Game of Thrones. His favorite thing about walking dogs is getting to develop friendships with such amazing animals and watching how they grow, no matter their age. One of his favorite characteristics of dogs is their uncontrollable energy when they get excited; they never feel the need to play it cool. Outside of walking dogs, Gary is an actor, improviser, and guitarist around Chicago, and he enjoys regaling people with his theories about what’s going to happen next on Westworld.

Hayley C.'s photo

Hayley C.

Hayley hails from St. Louis Missouri. Hayley grew up with several dogs, including a Bichon Frise, Maltese, and 3 different Maltipoos. Hayley has also petsat for dogs of all ages and sizes! If Hayley could be any dog breed she’d like to be an Australian Shepherd, as they have beautiful eyes and tend to be very smart. The thing Hayley loves most about walking dogs is getting to take the pups out for an adventure they have been waiting on daily. Outside of dog walking Hayley enjoys doing improv at Second City and stand-up! The thing Hayley loves the most about animals is how genuinely excited they can get about getting to see you again, no matter how long or short the amount of time since they last saw you.

Isamar is from Chicago and has been here since she was born!  Growing up, Isamar had a pet rabbit and several birds.  Currently, she has a dog named Paloma, two cats, and a few birds!  If Isamar were to be a dog, she would either be a Basset Hound or a Bolognese!  What Isamar loves most about walking dogs is being able to create a bond with the pups!  She also loves seeing how excited the dogs get when they get to explore the outside world! What Isamar loves most about cats is how sweet they are! Cats are often seen as cold and distant but they are some of the biggest sweethearts ever once you earn their trust. If Isamar could have any one trait of cats it would be their quick reflexes as she would be unstoppable then! Isamar feels she would have the name Pelusa if she was a cat, which means fluffy in Spanish. Outside of dog walking and cat sitting, Isamar enjoys going to concerts, baking, reading, writing, and makeup artistry!  What Isamar loves most about animals is their innocence and carefree nature!

Like with his own pets, Jeff would do anything to help them have the best life possible! If Jeff could be any breed of dog he would be a Beagle. If he could be a dog he would be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier! Keith’s favorite part of dog walking is spending time with the dogs, and getting to know their idiosyncrasies. What he loves most about animals is their different personalities, a trait you only get to notice, and appreciate, when you spend time with them. Keith is a musician, and also enjoys photography in his spare time.

Lauren has also dog sat for friends and volunteers at animal shelters. Lauren can’t have pets in her current residence but dreams of one day adopting a rescue greyhound and an orange cat. She already has names picked out! If Lauren was a dog breed, she’s been told that she looks a bit like a Cocker Spaniel, but according to a quiz, she’s a pug. All that said, Lauren, thinks she’s most like a French Bulldog. Outside of dog walking, Lauren enjoys reading, crocheting, picnics in the park, cooking, and finding fun, little happy hours and rooftop patios to enjoy. Outside of dog walking, Margaret enjoys reading, watching true crime stories, and spending time with her nephews. What Margaret enjoys most about walking dogs, aside from the exercise, is that being with dogs is so peaceful and joyous – a dog’s unconditional love always improves her day. Matt K.

Matt is originally from Valparaiso, Indiana, but now is happy to call Chicago home!  Both of Matt’s parents are veterinarians who own their own practice, so Matt has always grown around a large number of animals.  Matt primarily grew up with larger dog breeds like their German Shepherds, Alaskan Malamutes, and Scottish Deerhounds, but he has also had the opportunity to work with cats, fish, parrots, horses, and wildlife rescues as well!  Unfortunately Matt does not care for a pup of his own at the moment, but he hopes to have the opportunity to do so soon!  If Matt were to be a dog, he would definitely be a big lanky Greyhound.  What Matt loves most about dog walking is having the opportunity to meet all kinds of different dogs as part of his job!  Outside of dog walking, Matt is an active performer in the Chicago comedy scene, as well as a freelance photographer/videographer.  You may catch Matt doing standup or improv comedy just about any given night, and he is also working on developing an original guitar album in the coming year!  Feel free to follow Matt on Instagram: @reallymattkeeley.  What Matt loves most about animals is that they are very clear on their likes and dislikes! Much like the animals she works with, she describes herself as patient and empathetic. When Mayzie is not walking dogs, she enjoys spending her time at Lake Michigan, trying out new coffee shops, and practicing her sign language. Mayzie is “paw-sitively” excited about her position at Windy City Paws and looks forward to meeting many new furry friends!

Meghan’s favorite thing about walking dogs is getting to know the unique personalities of each dog and creating a relationship with them. What Meghan loves most about cats is their patience and calmness. If Meghan could have any one trait of cats it would be their aloofness and how they let very little faze them. Meghan feels if she was a cat her name would be either Luna or Jinx. Outside of dog walking and cat sitting Meghan is a freelance artist and also sews! What Myle loves most about walking dogs is being able to form a close connection with each pet, while at the same time ensuring they’re being well taken care of for their loving owners! The thing Nikki loves the most about animals is how loyal and loving they are! It’s never a dull moment with our pets! Nikki truly feels we need them just as much as they need us.

Patrick S.'s photo

Patrick S.

Patrick hails from sweet Hershey, PA! While Patrick doesn’t currently have any dogs in the city, his family owns two dogs – a cockapoo named Molly and a Puggle named Bailey! If Patrick could be any breed of dog, he would be a Black Lab. Outside of dog walking, Patrick is a theatre director, producer, and educator who loves playing D&D and reading. What Patrick enjoys most about dog walking is getting outside and seeing the dogs excitement to explore their neighborhood. For Patrick, his favorite thing about dogs is their sense of joy and wonder.
Phoebe A.'s photo

Phoebe A.

Phoebe is originally from Milwaukee, WI, but is so excited to call Chicago her new home! Phoebe grew up with and helped care for her brother’s energetic dog, Calvin, a Jack Russel Terrier/Brittney Spaniel Mix. If Phoebe were a dog, she would be a Standard Poodle! Outside of dog walking, Phoebe enjoys exploring the City of Chicago, acting, and cooking! The best part of dog walking is being able to meet new furry friends and explore different neighborhoods of the city. What Phoebe loves most about animals is their loyalty and their ability to give unconditional love!

Rebecca S.'s photo

Rebecca S.

Rebecca hails from right here in Chicagoland, specifically Winnetka, IL. While growing up, Rebecca’s family had two Scottish terriers and one black lab. Rebecca’s family has always loved Scottish terriers, dating back to Rebecca’s Grandma having one while growing up in Detroit as a teenager in the 1940s. Rebecca considers dogs as best friends and members of the family, she couldn’t imagine life without them!
If Rebecca was a dog breed, she would be a Scottish terrier because they’ve been in her family for so long! They’re loyal, and caring, and will always protect the people they love, and Rebecca says she’d do the same! Outside of walking dogs, Rebecca is a freelance resource entertainment writer for Collider.com. Rebecca writes about movies and TV, specifically recommendation lists for content streamers such as Netflix and HBO MAX, and upcoming movies and shows. Rebecca is also a musician and writes music and sings during her free time. She also plays the guitar and piano. The thing that Rebecca enjoys most about walking dogs is the joy it gives them, which in return brings Rebecca joy! Rebecca believes that it is important for dogs to venture outdoors so they can thrive in nature and sniff to their heart’s content while getting some exercise at the same time. As Rebecca describes it “It’s like we’re two explorers, connecting with nature.” What Rebecca loves most about animals is their endless curiosity, and the undying love they give to their owners and friends. Rebecca feels the world is a better place with dogs and the amount of joy and happiness they bring!
Savannah S.'s photo

Savannah S.

Savannah hails from Michigan, having moved to Chicago last summer. Growing up, Savannah’s family always had different types of animals (lots of dogs!) and Savannah volunteered at her local humane society. Savannah doesn’t currently own any pets, which is why she’s so excited to work for Windy City Paws – being able to interact with dogs is something Savannah truly enjoys! While Savannah admits it may be somewhat “cliche”, if Savannah was a dog breed, she would probably be a Labrador because she is athletic, loyal, and friendly. When not walking dogs, Savannah works full-time at a local bank and spends her free time biking and cooking. What Savannah enjoys most about dog walking is getting to know their unique personalities, and spending some quality bonding time! The thing Savannah loves most about animals is that they are all a little different, they all have quirks and different personalities just like us.
Scott O.'s photo

Scott O.

Scott is originally from Pennsylvania but has lived in Chicago for the last 26 years. He had a dog, a Bichon Frisé, named Victor, as well as many cats throughout his life, named: Max, Sebastian, Bonkers, & Smokey. If Scott could be a dog he would be a Beagle. Scott’s favorite part of dog walking is how being with dogs is calming and is one of the best ways you can spend your time. They are the most loving and giving of all animals. Scott loves how incredibly affectionate and caring cats can be and loves the experience of a cat coming to sit on your chest and kneading you or laying down on your chest. If Scott could have any one trait of a cat, it would be to always be able to land on his feet! Scott feels if he were a cat, he would definitely have the name Max! What he loves most about animals are their happy souls. In his spare time, Scott enjoys acting and teaching as an adjunct professor at Columbia College.  He also loves to read!

Sophia R.'s photo

Sophia R.

Sophia hails from Oak Park, IL. While growing up, Sophia had a chocolate lab named Max, and two cats named Violet & Leo. As an adult, Sophia owns a kitten named Moose! Sophia also fosters cats and currently has a bonded senior pair, Koby & Annie. If Sophia was to pick a dog breed to be, she would definitely be a Corgi because “they are loving, stubborn, and hilarious!” Outside of dog walking, Sophia is a middle school English teacher and camp counselor. Sophia loves teaching and being around kids! When she’s not working, Sophia enjoys doing fun things around Chicago with her friends. What Sophia loves most about dog walking is getting to know all the different dogs and their unique personalities that come out as you spend more time with them. Sophia’s favorite thing about animals is how loving they are!
Thomas R.'s photo

Thomas R.

Thomas was born and raised in Chicago, and has been surrounded by animals his whole life – he has particularly fond memories of his family’s old dog Bella. He has a few years of experience in the pet care industry as a dog walker and a pack handler at a doggy daycare. Currently, he owns a snake named Linguini. If he were a dog, he thinks that he’d probably be some sort of shepherd mix. Outside of dog walking, Thomas is an actor and fight choreographer. Thomas enjoys practicing with their guitar and playing Dungeons and Dragons. What Thomas enjoys most about dog walking is getting to know every dog they walk and getting to see different parts of the city in the process. What Thomas loves most about animals is their honesty, and their ability to radiate comfort and love.

Having recently moved to Chicago, Trey looks forward to learning more about the Windy City and spending time with all his furry friends.

Veron M.'s photo

Veron M.

Veron hails from Louisville, KY but has been in Chicago for about a year. Growing up, Veron spent time with all different types of pets – gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, ducks, guineas, cats, dogs, and even horses and cows! Veron’s parents are veterinarians and they feel very comfortable around animals. Veron currently owns one cat named Sylas. If Veron could be any breed of dog they would be a Great Pyrenees because they’re very friendly and love to play. Outside of dog walking Veron enjoys roller skating, and working on art projects – whether it be music, fashion, or performance. Veron loves music and movies and will happily chat about either if you ever ask them! The thing that Veron enjoys most about walking dogs is how excited they become when you take them outside, and how they are just excited to be there and be in the movement. Walking dogs is always a good reminder to focus on the things in front of you and take in the surrounding world. Veron’s favorite thing about animals is when cats purr, stating that it is “the most comforting feeling in the whole world. Veron also loves when a dog requests to be pet by putting its paw on you like a friendly hand.

Veronica L.'s photo

Veronica L.

Veronica originally hails from Mexico City before coming to Chicago. She grew up with several dogs and even helped rescue a dog here in Chicago that she found wandering the streets! She currently owns an adorable Pug and Rat Terrier mix named Max. If Veronica were a dog breed, she feels like she would be much like her own pup Max, a very down to earth but active dog! What Veronica loves most about walking dogs is that it can be an adventure with every walk being a little different and that both she and the dog can learn, meet people, and have fun! What Veronica loves most about cats is how independent they can be while still wanting all the affection. If Veronica could have any one trait of cats it would be their precision to know what they want and when. Veronica feels if she was a cat her name would probably be Luci! When not dog walking or cat sitting, Veronica likes to spend her free time with her daughter and Max and also running. She has participated in several marathons, half marathons, and other races! The thing she loves most about animals, in general, is the unconditional love they provide when you give them the chance!
